I'm a lifelong crafter who has landed on quilting as my absolute favorite skill. When I'm not working at my day job as an electronic medical record analyst, I'm doing something related to quilting. I'm a quilter. who can't settle for one project at a time,. Just look at my quilting studio, the evidence is everywhere, And I'm having so much fun!
In 2023 when my son suggested I start a quilting business, I jumped in with both feet. I belong to 5 local quilt guilds, 2 charity groups, 3 small groups and 2 online memberships. I bought both a longarm and an embroidery machine and use them along with my trusty, well, mostly trusty, 15 year old Janome sewing machine.
What has surprised me most about this journey, has been my interest in the business side of things. While it may have been, and still is a steep learning curve, especially the technical stuff, I have completely geeked out on the biz books, podcasts, webinars, videos and classes. My love of learning has been a lifelong interest, but never did I imagine that I would enjoy the business side of things. I probably shouldn't have been surprised though, as I come from a long line of entrepreneurs.
The ultimate realization of the goal I have for this business is to one day have my kids or grandkids join me in the fun. I especially have three incredibly talented daughters/daughter in law, two strategic and savvy sons, one gifted son in law, and five, almost six, grandkids who are still finding their way and interests in this great big, beautiful world we all live in.
If you've made it to the bottom of this About page, I congratulate you on your persistence. It will serve you well. If you love quilting, I hope you join me on this journey. I don't know where it will take me but I plan to discover everything the quilting world has to offer, one road at a time, I'm open to collaborations, opportunities, or suggestions.
